where we are
Harm, violence and sexual harrasment happens online, in schools and universities, at work, in public spaces, in our homes, on public transport, in our institutions and our communities.
It plays out on the dance floor of our favourite clubs, pubs and shared night time spaces.
Collective yes focuses on the enviroments where we choose to party and express ourselves.
We are part of a movement pushing for more joy and liberation through accountability, shared responsibility and collective care.
We all have the right to party free from harm.
The epidemic of harm
In 2024, the police declared a national emergency from the increase of male violence against women, girls and marginalised genders.
ignoring this reality upholds it.
we recognise the need for a comprehensive, sustainable and compassionate approach if we hope to break the cycle of behaviour.
We began actively rethinking how we, as an organisation, deal with harm. We believe that real culture change requires honest dialogue, accountability, and the courage to engage with those causing harm in our spaces.
CHANGING THE CULTURE
male violence is real. we are all impacted by it, all genders and backgrounds and communities.
we won’t be able to move forward in changing this culture Until we address the roots of harmful behaviour that perpetuate male violence and harm,
everyone deserves to feel safe and confident going out, knowing that if harm occurs, they will be believed, supported, made safe, and treated with care and intention.
Those who cause harm need to understand the impact of their actions and commit to meaningful behaviour change.
for any lasting change to occur, we BEILEVE ALL INDIVIDUALS AND ORGANIATIONS hAVE A DUTY OF CARE TO EACH OTHER IN MAKING OUR SHARED SPACES SAFER AND MORE ACCOUNTABLE.
